The Strategic Energy Institute is looking for a Summer Intern/Student Assistant to support the following project needs which include but are not limited to the possible duties/responsibilities:
R&D in preparation for Energy Unplugged STEM program (May and first half of June):
o Design, construct and validate small scale data acquisition systems (e.g., RC car, steam engine) to store and display energy data in real time.
o Construct a data acquisition system for micro grid consisting of a single (300W) PV panel, charge controller, power electronics and battery. This would be housed outside the CNES lab, and used during the STEM activities.
o Other prep for summer camp as needed around hands-on projects, prototypes, experimental lesson plans.
CNES living lab test beds (remainder of summer: late June and July):
o EV charging: Data acquisition on the CNES Level 2 EVSE under the solar parking canopy. Coordinate with vehicle owners on usage profiles, SOC/SOH/commute info, etc.
o On-site storage with lead acid battery energy storage system (BESS) at CNES. This project would explore use cases, simulate peak shifting, arbitrage, carbon minimization, solar self consumption, etc.
o Other integrated analysis, data analytics, modeling, scenario development, engineering related to combinations of locally generated solar energy, locally sited energy storage, local consumption of locally generated/stored energy.
Hours/Schedule: This would be a full-time role for summer (min 8 weeks, up to 10 or 12).
In terms of schedule, the timing for working at the Carbon Neutral Energy Solutions Lab (CNES) in summer is flexible. The dates of the camp will be June 9-13.

The College of Computing Dean’s Office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Georgia Tech student to serve as an Office Student Assistant. This position offers hands-on experience in a professional office environment and provides support for daily administrative operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist visitors, students, and staff professionally
• Answer phones, take messages, and route calls appropriately
• Provide general clerical support, including filing, scanning, and data entry
• Assist with scheduling appointments and preparing meeting materials
• Maintain inventory of office supplies and assist with ordering
• Support special projects and departmental events as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled at Georgia Tech in good academic standing
• Able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule during the semester
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior office or administrative experience
• Familiarity with campus resources and student services
• Experience with tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and basic databases
Work Conditions:
• Work is performed in a typical office setting
• This is an on-campus, in-person role
• Students must not exceed 20 work hours per week during enrolled semesters (per Georgia Tech student employment policy)
